Another great month zips by. Walking up 42nd st. after taking 'the train' to Manhattan, first thing we saw was my name up in lights in front of BB King's...Equal billing with Tommy Castro...quite a thrill! Had a great dressing room with a star and my name on a BB King poster...very nice. Excellent backstage perks including drinks and horderves! Even had my own bathroom facilities...If it was like this every night...

Had my Niece, my Nephew and some friends backstage and we had a nice visit. The show went well, I put the OUTDOOR GUITAR together on stage which got the attention of the entire audience! I was well received and before I knew it I was back in the dressing room...after 'folding up' the guitar and walking off stage with it in the small case. Hoping to play BB's again in November, hopefully with an acoustic act.

Had a great visit with Mom, and we celebrated her 93rd Birthday at a snazzy Italian restaurant in Sunnyside. There were 16 of her children, grand children and other relatives at the party. Mom said she wanted to ask a question rather than make a speech. "Am I not the luckiest woman in the world the" she asked...Quite a Mom, for sure. How lucky we are...

We enjoyed our NY visit, Nancy did some museums and such in the city with my Sister-In-Law and I spent a day with "The Nephew", playing guitars and hanging out. We all met for a great Indian meal before calling it a day.

Ramblin' Burt, a Connecticut DJ Pal of mine gave me a cd of Marie Night & Larry Cambell. A tribute to Rev.Gary Davis. WOW..unbelievable music. Marie Knight toured with Sister Rosetta Tharpe for 20 years and is some kind of singer! I highly recomend this disc. Go to www.mc-records.com and check it out. Larry played guitar with Bob Dylan among others, and he is terrific on this disc. He really made the guitar parts his own while capturing the spirit of the Rev. Davis. I only wished the Rev. was here to give this a listen. I know he would be pleased.

We head out tomorrow, meeting with MC-Records for lunch and then taking the ferry from Orient Point NY to Connecticut. Looking forward to a few weeks in New England before we head South to the Carolina's and Tennessee.

Hope to see you all somewhere this Summer...
