Last Weekend in St. Pete

Last weekend in St. Pete.....will be 'back home' on the road late Monday! The Bus is all squared away and I am loading her up as we speak....

SPRING BREAK Festival last weekend was great. First time camping next to the Xplorer's twin motorhome! Cool guy from St. Augustine was our neighbor and it was the first time for him too! Lots of Motorhome talk....Chubby Carrier Band rocked the joint into the late hours...My sets were well attended and the audiences were very enthusiastic to say the least. I played my old Recording King with the FISHMAN BLENDER amplification system for the first time in over a year and it sounded terrific! It is the only 'pick up' deal That makes my old Gibson sound like a LOUDER old Gibson! I highly recomend it. Will be taking it on the tour along with my Nick Lucas Special. As I still have 2 of these Recording Kings, I might let one go for a price or a trade...

Nancy is finishing up her semester at graduate school. She enjoyed her Special Ed teaching experience and looks forward to having her own class in 2005 ! I look forward to her joining me at the end of May for the Cross Country Summer tour. New dates are confirming and it looks like it will be a fun and rewarding trip. Can't wait to see the Desert, The Rockies and the Pacific North West again....

Looks like Hal Leonard will release BOOK'S BLUES BOOK sometime in May. Fingers crossed....The Live show from the NATIONAL STORYTELLING FESTIVAL is now available on DVD as is BLUES BY THE BOOK. Reports from students are that The DVD guitar lessons are so much easier to learn from that it was worth the wait!

Not much more to report at this time. Will give you the MERLEFEST report in a week or so. We all made it through another Winter, Let the Tour begin!

By For Now,
