On the road now for a month...MERLEFEST was the best! A little rain every day, but what the heck. We had some sunshine every day as well. Nancy and Maureen met me in Raliegh on Thursday and we were camped at the Fest by early afternoon.

The 'Acoustic Blues Stage' was a hit on Saturday. Great to see and hear all the "blusers", Catfish Keith, Jerry Ricks, Spider John Koerner, Ann Rabson and Ernie Hawkins. Patrick Sweany and his dad were there in the audience digging all the music!

Got to chat with Doc Watson a little bit on Sunday. Next year we might do a few old time songs with Just Doc, Richard and myself. That would be very cool...

Next had a nice gig in Ashland and a super gig in Stockton at the old mill, built 300 years ago! Visited with family before heading into New England. WUMB radio show went well and helped draw a sell out crowd at the in Shirley. Thank goodnes for public radio... Great food too. Thanks to the Bull Run folks, Steve, Dalores and Arthur.

Busy week coming up. Nancy flies into NYC and we head North again for the Fall River Gig and then have to leave after the show and scoot South to Pa. for the Spring Gulch Fest the next day....will be a hard drive but we can do it. Should be about 7-8 hours.

Lots of cool gigs heading back South after that, and then the big tour across the country. Lookin' forward to the Desert, the mountains and the Pacific Ocean.....

BOOKS BLUES BOOK now scheduled for early June release.....see ya out there,

by for now.
