Spring Summer Tour

Hey Guys & Dolls,  Somehow I have not written a BOOK REPORT, since leaving home for Merlefest back in late April!  I don't know how that happened......

Great weather, great shows....Merlefest was great, big crowds, great music and as I recall the weather was pretty good.   Already, next years festival is booked and it should be another great time, especially for The Greatest Acoustic Blues Show On Earth.  Remember, no festival in the world has presented a stage just for Acoustic, Fingerpickin', Songwriting, Blues Acts and this will be our 18th year of doing so!

We spent most of the Summer so far this year in the North East.  Rock Hill Md. was an early highlight on the shore......lots of good crabs to eat and new fans to share the music with.  On to Lansdale PA, Hinesburg Vt, Tiverton RI, and then the New Bedford Folk Festival which was really hot!   Great time there, sharing workshop stages with John Gorka, Brooks Williams, Lori McKenna and Claudia Schmidt.  A real treat was having young 'string masters'   Josh Pinkham and Jeremy Kittel jamming with me on Fiddle & mandolin! These guys can really swing and were especially great on some of my new tunes......

Another highlight was, The Faces & Voices of The Blues Too.....produced by our pals Pat & Dalores & PocoNotes.   This event was up in Scranton and included a Photo exhibition by Jim Gravenus, a pickin' on the porch session, a guitar workshop and a concert!  A large time was had by all who attended!

Somewhere along the way, we traded in our 'tour bus' for a new rig!   We stopped off to test drive one of these Sprinter vans I have been thinking about for over a year and the deal offered with our trade in (110,000 miles) was to good to turn down!  So the last fifteen hundred miles on the road in the new 'bus' has been fantastic, averaging 18 miles per gallon (diesel).  A little longer and a little higher, but still a Class B Camper Van.

Up in Maine, we enjoyed lobster rolls galore and got to visit with our pals Jorma, Barry and company at their gig in Ogunquit, the day before our gig in Portland.  Great to see Mrs. K and Izzy too.....

THE GOOD BOOK, is getting lots of airplay, climbing the "folk" charts,  selling well at shows and getting plenty of   downloads, on  CD Baby, Amazon & Spotify...... It's been great fun performing those new songs, some that were written not very long ago...... Special thanks to my "publicist" Kari Estrin.

Just another week or so on the road before we head home for a month to prepare for the Fall tour which will take us from Atlanta to Minneapolis, including shows in TN, VA, NC, OH, and then back to The North East.  (including a session at The Fur Peace Ranch with Rory & Jorma, Oct. 18-21)

We will be "Camping Out" at Liberty Harbor Marina/Campground in Jersey City for a few days later this week, steps away from where we can  jump on the ferry into Manhattan, visit our pals John & Marla and my Brothers, Nephews & Great Nephews and Niece.......

Bye For Now,

Hope to see you somewhere, sometime,

Roy & Nancy BB
